there has been some problems with K&N on our trucks..... the turbo not only sucks in lots of air but also the oil from the filter and some dust with it. i have the K&N kit on my truck and i definatley get dust and oil (mostly oil) on inside of the tube and the fins on the turbo. i will be switching to an Amsoil filter my self. not all people have had problems with the K&N but i think for how much they cost you could get something better for your money. and just so no one has to ask.... yes i know how to properly oil the filter.
now for an exhaust i personally run a 4-inch turbo back system from fel pro. it sounds great and i have had no problems with it. i would think a 4 inch system would be just fine depending on how much power you are looking to be putting down, some might reccomend a 5 inch system.

I also saw some oil being sucked in from the filter, but put on a BHAF since then and no prob with it so far, Like the others said though if I had the extra funds I would like to get a dry flow filter system. For exhaust I have a silverline stainless 304 4in turbo back which sounded good with a muffler, but since have discounected it b4 the muffler and boy does it really whislte now, plus its a little louder exhaust noise.lol

I got a K&N full system and a MBRP Aluminized 4'' turbo back, not because i though it was the best combo but because from where i purchased it from that was the cheapest exhaust/CAI system and i was tight on $$$
would liked to got a 5 inch for the future mods but o well, have had no probs with th K&N, and the exhaust sounds great.
