I have to say the Scotty II. It is not the cheapest just the best. Mine is on the way and I can't wait to cut that 4.5" hole. I have only heard great things about the Scotty II. I noticed you said a K&N is on the way... I hope they have a return policy!!!

I went with a BHAF, costs about $45 plus an Outerwears pre-filter, about another $20. Lets turbo sing louder and pulls lots of air, about a 50 degree drop in EGTs. Not as good as a Scotty II, but for me it gets the job done.

I love my BHAF I have just been waiting on the $$$ for a Scotty II. I can remember that first test run on the interstate with the BHAF... now the radio volume stays a little lower!!!

The BHAF can be bought at NAPA part # 2970 (it will be in a BIG box)
The pre-filter came from Outerwears.com
Installation is a breeze. Take the hose off the air box then remove the filter. Remove the three nuts in the bottom of the air box and the box comes right out. Slip the pre-filter on the BHAF and reconnect the air hose to the BHAF. A heat sheild is not a must but a good idea. Do a search on here and you will find the template. Installation is quick and easy.

Me either but if you can just go into the store and give that part number. They did not stock it so they had to order mine but I still got it in two days. There are other brands that you could probaly order off the net but not sure of the part numbers.

I'd like to get the Donaldson thingy but I don't know how progress is coming, think I'll bump it.

Found out today that all NAPA auto parts stores offer discounts to AAA members. Just to give an example - new A/C compressor for my sentra new is $304 with AAA discount its $260.
I went ahead and ordered a BHAF from napa, will be here tomorrow. Ended up paying $61. Nobody round here had it cheaper.

TEDHRS,
Good choice with the BHAF. I hope you enjoy and again installation should be a breeze. However if you run into problems you know someone will be just a few keystrokes away. By the way I have a project truck that has a 85 to 88 300zx turbo rear end in it. Do you know what the factory gears are???

you can search for either the NAPA 2790 or the Wix 42790. both are the same filter (BHAF) and I got mine for $28
