I have the aluminum Deezee pieces all the way around the top rail, and look very nice, and take one heck of a beating every day with no probs. They are not chrome plated plastic.

I have a set of stainless steel ones I did not put back on. They have some scuff marks from when I had a over the rail tool box & the rubber I had placed between slipped out..
