BD's 300hp pump?
Is it worth the money? I grenaded my stock pump in my 98 and have one on the way? what other upgrades might I consider to work with this? I am doing a 16cm housing and 4" exhaust, has guages on already. Old pump had a #11 plate and boost elbow from TST. would bigger injectors help things out? From what I've been told this pump will deliver lots of fuel.

does anyone have any experience with this pump? or is my lack of diesel knowledge annoying everyone to the point of ignorance? I thought that's what a message board was for, and yes I did search....and search and found little info on the subject. So if someone would be kind enough to take the time to enlighten me it would be greatly appreciated.

yeah no kidding, your 215 pump is capable of more than you probably will ever throw at it. think abotu just having it rebuilt...... grenaded the pump, sure its just not low fuel pressure or an improperly adjuststed gov arm. ive heard of a couple of cummins shops not knowing about the torque plate being in a p pump and then telling the customer the pump is junk. that and or a torn boot leading to the gov arm not ramping up and cummins has diagnosed that too as a junk pump. those may sound stupid but are real life cases with cummins dealer repairs and dodge dealer repairs.
watch out for a parts swapper instead of a diagnoser and problem fixer. grenading a p pump takes tallent that or full on vegitable oil

My old pump failed because I adjusted the govenor kit too much and it hit the inside of the pump housing, after inspecting the inside and seeing metal shavings I determined that it would need to be tore down and rebuilt. a stock 215 pump was like 1100$ and a 300 hp pump was 1600, I was told that the power would be much smoother with little smoke and I could add 370's to it later if I wanted for more fueling. So is this pump basically just a stock 215 pump with a fuel plate and 3 gsk?

Sounds that way...FWIW, I have a 215 pump sitting on my office floor that I've been told is the smoothest pump to use for power up to 600 hp, above that, get a race pump.
Now if I could get it installed

For a comparison, ask BD how much fuel it will pump. I just had mine bench tested. It is a 180 hp pump with 191 DV's, #100 plate, 3K GSK. It will pump 430 cc's at top fueling. For you to do the same on a stock pump figure $150+ for DV's, anywhere from no cost to $200 for a fuel plate and $125 for the spring kit. That's $475 on the high side to $275 on the low to do add on's for a stock pump ($1100, price now $1375 to 1575). You will still need to calibrate the pump if you put everything on yourself and you want it turned up (another $100 - 200, pump price now $1575 to 1775). If this BD pump can match that for $1600 then it doesn't sound like too bad a price. Biggest thing is to know what you are getting with the pump. Either what parts or how much fuel. Add some 370 HP injectors and you'll be looking for a bigger turbo and tranny. It costs to play doesn't it. Any questions, PM me.
