Hello everyone, its been a while since Ive posted. I recently bought a 98 12v 4x4 auto shorty. It is currently bone stock. I was researching mods and I noticed that the BD twins kit comes with everything you need, including: turbos, piping, exhaust mani., down pipe and air filter. I need all of these parts and the kit is very reasonable. My question is does anyone know anything about the turbos in the kit or how well they perform. Their website deosnt say anything about the nature of the turbos, only that they flow enough for 575rwhp. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

They are a very good twin setup. Only thing i say is not so good is they use 2 s 300 frame turbos, which means the bottom isnt very big and limits your abbilities quickly. Check out sourceautomotive.com they have a bigger selection of twin setups and accsesories. There are lots of companies makeing them also do some more searching you might find bd to he higher priced than others.

I have a set on my truck and IMO, they're everything they're advertised to be. They spool fantastic and they control my EGT's. They're going to be more expensive than a set-up like Rip's that utilizes your stock turbo but they're reasonable for what they are... 2 new turbos and all the piping/hoses/fitting/hardware to assemble.

BD makes no bones that their towing twins aren't designed for the guy looking for 750 hp on fuel..... but, they do have a race set with a larger bottom turbo(S400 frame) for the 3rd gens that by all accounts, can be made to fit a second gen manual trans truck...

my mods are I.I. HRVP44, F1 Mach 5's, TST Competition box, Smarty, F1 Sportsman Springs, FASS fuel system, ARP head studs, O-rings by Floor-It Diesel, ATS exhaust manifold and the BD Twins...

LOL heck no!! This is my fifth cummins, two of which had twins and billet trannies. My 97 went 11.84 at 116mph
