BD Super B questions
In my search for a good towing turbo the BD Super B comes up.
What are the turbine and compressor specs on this turbo?
I understand the Super B has a 57 mm compressor wheel- what makes this any better than my HX-35 turbo with a 56 mm compressor?

Your stock HX35 is 54mm inducer, not 56. At least according to Hi Tech Turbo.
The compressor should feature extended tips, and the turbine be more efficient as well.

Cool! I'd love to hear how it works for you.
I'm in love with spoolup, so any replacement turbo of mine is going to have to be pretty mild on the upgrades. I think 62 might be too big for what I want to do.

Hopefully I will have a report before too long. I installed the turbo tonight, but it was snowing so I opted to wait for the test drive (and believe me its driving me nuts). Now for the rant!!! Does anyone besides myself think the engineers that design placement of parts on these trucks is a MAN HATING FEMALE? Why is there always thet ONE bolt or nut that takes every tool in your garage to try and get it free. OK I'm better now.

What do the 3 numbers mean? compressor/turbine/exhaust housing?
And when he says the special is a 64, what does that refer to?
compressor size?
Still trying to figure out this turbo jargon

Well 4 hours on the road today (to grandmothers house we go). First off this turbo is a vast improvement over the HY. The HY spooled ungodly quick, but seemed to reach its peak and them "bounce" a couple of times before it made consistent power. This turbo spools, I would not say "quick", but fast. Smooth power right from the moment you mash the pedal. I could not play a lot as I had the wife and her mother in the truck. I will say however that the EGT problem is solved. With the HY and the Adrenaline turned up, I would see in excess of 1600 degrees. When going thru a couple of slowdown areas today, I turned up the Adrenaline and gave it a little and I must say I never saw temps higher than 1200. At cruising speeds on the highway at 70 EGT's were pretty steady at 700. This turbo never seemed to get hot enough to let the box defuel, of course more testing later when the wife is not with, she doesnt see the need to mash the pedal. Overall for the first test I am more than pleased. If I had to do it all over again I would get a turbo first then the new injectors.

The compressor is a little bigger than stock, but it is the less restrictive turbine and housing thats allowing more heat out. 400 degree drop is fantastic
