BD-Race Anti-Defueler Questions about RPM and HP.

I was just wondering about this little unti I've read just alittle about it on BD but they dont really give much info. Ive looked at installation intructions (looks kinda tricky) no other modules or chips hook into these wires. If I could get any replys to really how this thing works and what are the benefits? I see there is someone looking for one in classifieds for harder lauch? How will this help in 1st and 2nd gear like BD says. Unleashes defueling in lower gears? What are the HP benefits from this, anyone know? And another thing for all the trucks I watch on the movies of drag racing and sled pulles they git up to the line rev the engine black smoke boils out and continues to pour out, how does it continue to smoke. Mine has edge comp drag and some other small things mine pours out smoke like at low boost: reving the engine or driving it smokes till boost hits about 25-30psi then just small amounts of smoke is seen but not the black blanket like on the drag video's ive seen. Clue me in on how they continue to pour smoke and how the BD race anti-defueler works.

You have a 6 speed. The RAD really won't help you much, only on the top mph limiter. The 01 and later pickup defuel when boost is above a certain value (~21psi on mine), and the trans is in first or second gear. This was done to keep from breaking parts. With billet shafts (auto trans), it will hold more then this amount of boost. The RAD eliminates that first and second gear defuel. It also removes the defueling at the 106mph (I think that was were mine defueled), speed limit. The RAD is not a boost fooler, and it doesn't help with the 3400rpm defuel. Also it will set codes when it is turned on, and the tach also quits working when it is on.

Hope this helps....

Paul covered just about all!
You don't need the RAD or want it....especially loosing your tach. If concerned about top end defueling...I believe your Drag Comp handles that?

You won't "pour smoke" with stock injectors.... that's how they do it (bigger injectors) and why would you want to loose all that hp (unburned fuel) out the exhaust? I know...it's cooooool!
