You would be suprised how many trucks have this problem, and the owners either don't know that they have it or haven't been able to solve it. A tight converter will actually mask or hide this problem, which is detrimental to 60' times.

Re:BD Race anti-defueler

I have one and am very happy with it's operation. I haven't had a chance to get to the dragstrip to test it out (busy work schedule > ), but seat of the pants is a lot better off the start. Without the box my truck will bog fairly heavily after 10 psi boost and only gets worse with more boost, but with the box it powers right through it and makes a noticeably difference in the 60' times. Hopefully the rain will hold out this thrusday and I can get a chance to go to the strip to get some hard numbers. As David already mentioned, the tach dies in "race mode" and it sets a check engine light when you switch it back to either "speed mode" or "regular mode". Definitely a nifty box and well worth the money for us speed junkies ;D

John

Rip needs one pretty bad. His truck is really killing him with the limiter on it.

Don~

Re:BD Race anti-defueler

I got to give the boys at BD an at-a-boy. I ordered on Monday and told them to ship it overnight. They said it would be here today. Guess what showed up in the brown truck.

Re:BD Race anti-defueler

Almost forgot,.......at the recent Claremont Va. Rally
David let Johnner do some "testing" on his dyno
with his 2001. He tried a run "without" the AD
Device on and one with it on. On the run with the
device "on" (third position, red light) it appeared
he gained about eight (8) H.P. on the run but David
said it wasn't a good run as there was a "spike"
on the torque. More testing is needed.

-------
John_P

Re:BD Race anti-defueler

Got mine today via UPS and got it on. Pretty simple install really. Went Drag racing tonight and can say that it works as advertised. No problem building boost on the line and holding it, the only problem is it worked so well my truck came home on the flatbed :'(. Seems like my output shaft sheared in half on the line at 20/25 ish psi. My friends truck defuels during staging while building boost, 10 psi the truck cuts out then comes back and continues this as did mine. His also defuels down the track. This little box takes care of that problem. This only affects late 00 ( 01 model ) 01 and 02 trucks. It is very evident if you have it and you might think it is computer or electronic glitch, but if you have a late model truck it is probably the Defueling due to Cummins Torque Management System built in to your ECM.
Fred
