BD Exhaust Brake Micro switch
Last month I installed a BD exhaust brake. When it works I love it but I am having to adjust the micro switch constantly. It either refuses to engage the exhaust brake or it refuses to disengage it when I accelerate. After installation BD had to send me a new switch because the first one would not adjust at all. The replacement one seemed extremely sensitive but I manage to get it adjusted and it did work for about a week. Has anyone had problems with the micro switch used to engage the BD brake on the 1999 model 24V Ram Diesel.

Not a '99 but on my '95 I've had the same switch on my BD brake for 14 years and have never adjusted it.
Perhaps the linkage that activates the switch on my rig is way different though and makes things easier.
I do have to clean the vacuum valve at least monthly or the brake will fail at the most critical times.

You can get the wire from cummins that will hook into your computer and do away with the switch on 24 valve. That is how I work my bd only problem there is like a 1 second delay on engagement.
