Banks twinram intake manifold kit
Kind of curious if anyone runs this setup... Description reads:
TwinRam intake manifold doubles the inlet area, optimizes air distribution into the cylinder head, and flows the boosted air proportionately into all six cylinders. The equalized air-streams do away with lopsided internal temperatures, balance cylinder air volume and produce smoother output. By driving a greater charge of air into each chamber, TwinRam amps up the power rating, improves mileage and durability, and reduces emissions.

I know Banks tends to be overpriced but is decent quality..
Is this a worthwhile modification to do?
Also will it hold up to high boost numbers?
Please enlighten me if there are cheaper alternatives.

I hear the only purpose it serves is for looks. If you are looking for power, you will find much better options. If you want a trick looking hood compartment, then this might be for you.

Bobcat, unless you're running say 450+ HP there's not a lot to gain from one. They DO help balance EGTs across cylinders as demonstrated by a test in a TDR article once. The temperature differential between coolest and hottest cylinders during a dyno run with a truck around 325hp was 90F as I recall. With the Twin Ram the difference dropped to only about 25F.
I hear they're around 700 bucks. It involves a new intake plate, grid heater blocks, and intercooler pipe. You separate the two heater grids and put one in each intake.

I'd like to have one...but I can't justify shelling out $625 for something that won't give me at least 75 ponies. I'm thinking about building my own version of it.

There seems to be many very high hp 12v's that do not use the twin ram......I have seen many pics of all the big dogs in pulling and drag racing with twins or huge singles that are making "undisclosed" amounts of power and most of them don't appear to use the twin ram........that has to tell you something.

I have the Banks power pack system which includes the twin ram intake and the system isn't for looks, it increased my hp to 335 at the rear wheels. The main negative thing that I've heard is that it is expensive for what it does, you can get a lot more hp for less money. When I had mine installed years ago I didn't do a ton of reach, I called Banks and what they told me sounded good to me and I took a road trip to their facility and camped out over night and hung out the next day while they did the install.
One thing I was disappointed with was, I was going to install a prime loc to make changing the pain in the butt fuel filter breeze to change then I found out it wouldn't fit with the twin ram there.
Where I live they started smogging diesels too and last year my truck passed with flying colors I wonder if it would with some of the other enhancers.

Thanks for the input guys.. These are the kind of responses I was looking for.
I can get all the banks stuff from one of my distributors so I figured if it was worth it I'd look into it.
Looks like I'll be better off spending my money elsewhere..
I got a guy that can do custom billet intakes..
Would this possibly be a benefit if we could get it done?
