Welcome to the site.

Do you have a 12 valve or 24 valve ( I assume 24v as you mention the edge)? What modifications do you have now?

I started with complete banks kit: Ottomind computer, gauges, & complete exhaust system.

Positives:
Complete kit did what it said it would, probably will not hurt your engine and had good instructions. It helped wake up the engine, especially with a set of RV 275s. I was happy for a while.

Negatives:
High cost, box is not adjustable, you tap the wire (loose your vp44 warrantee) (note the edge comp also taps the wire), gauges are integrated with the box (if you want to change to a different box I am not sure the gauges would work or if there is a problem with the box it may effect what the gauges are telling you).

I would probably buy the exhaust system again as I like it.

You are standing at the top of a slippery slope!

Good luck,

George

I love the Banks products. I think they are over-engineered (in a good way) and over-built, but I do agree that they are over-priced, too. You can definitely get more bang for the buck with individual pieces from many vendors, but the Banks stuff is first rate.

we've got two trucks with banks stuff on it. My dad's 1st gen has run 200,000 miles since the power pack install. I bought my 96 40,000 miles ago with the stinger plus kit already on it. My opinion...it's a well engineered system and as already stated, does what they say it will do. However if you take the same amount of money it costs for the banks system you can do a LOT more to your truck! I'm glad we've got them cause it's sure better than stock but I'd never spend my money on them after doing a little research on this site!!

We just bought a virgin '00 3500 and banks won't be touching it!

do some research on this site, call some shops and tell them how you want to use your truck and how much power you want. And I'd steer clear of any "performance shops" that want to push you to get a Banks system.

my $.02

I got an EZ Edge off of Ebay for $125.00 for my 01 a few years back. Brought the drivability of the truck up to a whole new level. I took it off, and the waste gate turn buckle, for a week. I forgot what a turd a stock truck is.

Banks is a good product but has its limits. For example if you plan on turbo and injector upgrades the banks chip doesn't play well with those mods
