Looking for more power, and better towing performance. Truck is 2001.5 , Auto,lwb 315 comp ta's on stock wheels, 3.55 gears, Jegs 4-inch Exhaust, BHAF. Would like to add power controller, Edge,or Banks big hoss. Dont want to ruin my Auto trans yet. But I notice, that most people here and on TDR dont like Banks for some reason. Why? They seem to be very reputable, and close in price. Also, are the hypertech and superchips worth looking at. Do any of these controllers change shift points, i need this for the larger tires. I am running a big hoss. No issues after a year and it has provided noticable power. I was and still am not ready to tap the pump wire yet. Price was comparable to others and wouldn't have a problem with recommending one. TG

TGCTD, thanks for a response. Can you tell me if your big hoss has helped fuel mileage, or how it has helped during towing. Does it help the constant shifting in and out of OD. My boat only weighs about 5000 lbs. But ive pulled it with a new toyota 4-runner, and the toyota seems to pull it just as good, but uses more fuel.

Fuel mileage has increased a little, nothing dramatic unloaded. There is a noticable gain in torque ,and driveability is a pleasure. Much better than stock. As far as pulling, the more weight the better. It may not be as fast as a hemi, from a stand still, but will not slow down on a steep grade like a hemi. I have been very pleased with my upgrades,and have't had the trans hunt between O/D and third. I would not be afraid now to tap the pump,but for what i tow , realistically is unnecessary. TG
