Question Banks Big Hoss Box- Yes or No with Smarty Tuner

When I bought the truck it came with the Banks Big Hoss Box on it. I just bought the Smarty Tuner and was woundering if I should keep using the Big Hoss Box with the Smarty or should I just use the Smarty turner?

Does the Banks Big Hoss add timing? If so I would try it with the Smarty on #8, and then take the banks Big hoss off and try just the SMARTY on #9. See which you like better? SMARTY #8 is just fueling. You do not want to stack two timing boxes is what I have gathered from the fine people on this site.

I'd recommend you keep your smarty on a "no timing" version when used with the Banks products.

I remember a guy melted his CTD stacking a Banks Ottomind with an EZ. The excessive timing under load just killed it.

Thus, my "no timing" recommendation, as the Banks stuff might get pretty aggressive on the timing at certain points in the map.

So its worth keeping the Banks Big Hoss and just running the Smarty on the non timing modes?

If the Hoss taps the wire, keep it.

If not, ditch it for the Smarty.

The only way to do better than Smarty is to tap the wire.

I haven't checked it myself, but from what I understand the Boss does not tap the wire.

It depends on how you drive. No one can tell you a hard and fast rule.

That said, SW #9 brings the power on early, before a stock automatic has a much line pressure, and this can definitely hurt the tranny if conditions are right.

I'd stick with #3 or #5 if you have a stock automatic, and even then there's no guarantees.
