Banks Auto mind ?

I bought an 01 auto truck with the stinger kit but the truck is very low in power compared to my 98 12v 215 motor with a #10 plate. Egts only climb to 950-1000 pre turbo and NO SMOKE. I just changed the fuel filter but it was clean. I am going to buy a new lift pump the pump on the truck only has 15000 miles on it.Whats the deal is this the way the banks chip works? Does this box advance the pump timeing?

Yup, It times it! Its a very Mild Box. No Smoke, No Power, No High Egts! Ive had quite a few problems out of these boxes! Try a Drag Comp! That should put you in the power range with the 12ver. Egts will get up there with a stock charger !

Its a stock turbo with the banks ex. housing and to replace the box just remove all the banks wireing and the new box plugs in? What about this smarty down loader I have been hearing of. Also what about the transmission?

I would go Smarty over Edge, many have gone that way, Edge is more overall power, but Smarty puts it down low where you use it daily driving. The Smarty is about all your stock tranny can hold, as is the Edge. Either could push it past it's limits, but a DTT valve body would let you hold a lot more power, if the rest of the tranny is in good shape.

AUto mind

I have a auto-mind and I love it . The thing about it is that it can be flashed at banks for four different settings. Mine is flashed on the highest level which is the power pack setting. Something doesn't sound right with yours. I know there are a lot of boxes out there with a higher power output, but you should notice a big difference between your truck without the box on and with it on.

I have never driven this truck with out it. But I have a 98 12 valve 5 spd truck and the two trucks are night and day to drive.I bought the 01 thinking I would lose some power but gain the convienence of the auto tranny. Is there a box I can stack with this box? I also went to banks web site thay say it shoulde make around 290 horse power at the wheel and 650 tq my 98 with a#10 plate is rated 330 hp @ the flywheel that should make the two trucks about even right. What about a set of 275 rv inj I remember people use to like them and tht thay would get better fuel mileage from them.

You could use the even number Smarty settings with the Banks box.

the 275's

I had a set of 275's in for around 3 months and they were great compared to the stock injector.

As soon as I sell the other truck im going to put a sucoast valve body and coverter then I will put the 275 sticks in.And if egts are crazy I will change the turbo to piers hx 35. See if that will wake this thing up. Boy thing were alot easyer with the 12 valve and cheaper.

Why not just keep the 12V?

and thats the reason many people dont sell em.. they are fun, cheaper to mod, easy to work on, and almost bulletproof.... Banks products, I have a 35 with a 14 cm housing, and with the mods in my sig egts get pretty darn hot and quickly, and accordin to my dyno im at 350 rwhp (air is killing me and so is the clutch) Im sure i have more than enough fuel for 400 plus horses, i just need to put it to the ground, and i need air... But banks products, well lets just say ive gotten rid of ALL of mine...

Try a smarty- it will definately wake the truck up and give you the responsiveness you're looking for. Then look for some small f-1 injectors if you still want more. What you're looking at doing is very conservative and might not give you the kick in the pants you're looking for.

Well I fixed my low power proublem. This truck has been embarrassing to drive for the past three months. I replaiced the likt pump installed the vulcan big line kit new filters talked to banks reps twice thay had me pull the box out and check the led lights on it and sugested the fuel pump swap. Today I pulled every connection from the box and used di electric greese on them. I also unpluged the mapp sensor but it threw a code then I un hooked the wire to the ecm for the trans still no power then I unpluged the diod on the pump tap wire BAMM Houston we have power!! The diod is used to remove the speed limiter and Banks wants $25.00 for it. I fix it after I bought a set of jammer stage 3 nozzels to fix my low power proublem.Well I guess you can never have to much power at least I can hold my head up high again.
