Bad Transmission Problems?

Bad Transmission Problems?
Looks like I will be calling a wrecker. On way home tonight, stopped at a stoplight, I go to take off and truck revs to about 1800 rpms before moving at all. Seems to taking off and not shifting until I hit drive. I don't feel a noticable shift or drop in rpms from 1st to 2nd at all. Truck doesn't want to shift into overdrive at all. Seems to have 2nd and Drive that is it. Have no idea what happened, honestly didn't romp on truck at all or beat on it. Literally came to a stop of the exit ramp at the light, and thing's gone crazy. Going to send back to builder, but trans is out of warranty. Warranty is of course good on convertor though. Anyone got any ideas of things to check with transmission shop being closed on Sunday? Also seems to be really freakin weak when it comes to trying to go into reverse. Thanks

I have checked the fluid level and it looks to be fine. Does smell a little bit burnt though, I have been debating changing the fluid and seeing what that does. I guess I will wait to see what the trans builder says. If he can't get to it for a couple days then I will change the fluids. I would assume that if I tow it there, that might be the first thing he would do himself. Trans was serviced less than 20,000 miles ago.

My tranny went into "Limp Mode" due to Valve Body electronics deciding to go "Toes Up" while I was 300 miles from home.
I drove it home by shifting manually into first, to roll from a stop (under light throttle) then into Drive when on the highway.
I drove all the way home at 55 mph with the engine taching around 3000 rpm.
It made it no problemo, but it was a looooooong noisy trip.
Changed the engine oil and filter the next day, called Dave Goerend's tranny shop and the rest is history.

Finally heard back from the installer this afternoon. Looks like I have got a burnt up overdrive unit and needed some valvebody adjustments. He told me that I also had a code for my apps unit, but he got that issue resolved after talking to Dave as well. Seems that he called Dave to get some ideas on tweaking my valve body setup. By the way, I tried down shifting manually through the gears and that did seem to let the truck shift into 1st every now and then. So hopefully it will be good to go and I am supposed to pick it up tomorrow. Transmission only had 41,000 miles on it since installation in March of 06. Overdrive unit is out of warranty. So I'll have to foot the bill for this deal.
