Unhappy bad results after GSK!

I just installed a 4k gsk today...

i have done that about 4 times yet...each time it worked out fine!

but today i started it up, after everything was done, reved it up, to see some 4000 rpm, but no good results... poping and missing like crazy. it wouldnt go past 2000 rpm! it just misses and pops and shutters!!!!

i dont think ive done something wrong, since i checked it again, everything seemed right. anybody could tell me the problem???? Cant use the truck like this! Just finished the twins today! cant use them like this!

poping

I put a 4k kit in my old 84 and it did the same thing, i advanced timing to 19.5 and it helped a little maybe 3000 in gear was all it ever saw and in park 3300 or so before the sputter i researched it all the time and never found a cure so good luck man. Anything from an air leak in the fuel line to the little cam in my 160 hp pump could have cause it as far as i know.

make sure your AFC boost line isn't broken from taking that housing on and off...it'll keep the AFC from pulling out of the way and defuel it enough to not achieve rpm or normal boost numbers.

it did the same thing with the afc off! (set aside)

it happens only from giving too much fuel, when i hold down the fuel shut off solenoid a bit, so it cuts the fuel kinda off, the missing disapers, but of course no power then!

This maybe more of a ? than an answer , but when working on gassers the poping from the intake was not enough fuel and poping from the exhaust was too much fuel , I haven't done enough moding with the diesels to have that symtem yet, and was wandering if that was possible when reading the post and other mentioning poping.

NOW IT WORKS!!!!!!

found the problem! i cleaned the air intake from the inside, (just before replacing the gsk) to see if it would get dirty, with some cleaning towels at once, one was left inside, and clogged before (on) the turbo blades it got only bout 5% of air, to burn that much 215 fuel!!!

hope to have a happier xmas now...

thank's to y'all for the replies and for the friendly help! i tried what you suggested, untill it was something completly else...
