What I did on my Pathfinder was use a stiff brissle brush and son of a gun. Spray on the son of a gun and let it set for about 5 minutes. Then spray some more on and use the bush to scrub it. Wipe it off and apply some more son of a gun and wipe off a normal. Would last for about 6 months before yu had to do it again.

I've seen some stuff on the shelf at auto parts stores called "back to black". It's for restoring faded black plastics. Try your local auto parts store.

I found this http://www.foreverblack.com/products.htm

I use "Mothers Brand" "Back to Black" on my stuff. I use it on the strip on the tailgate, then door handles, etc and it works great. Just squirt it on a towel, apply generously, let it soak up kinda, then buff it away. It works great. Try it...

If the plastic is in pretty good shape otherwise, Back to Black works great. If it has a bit of wax build-up on it, just clean with something that'll remove wax first, then wash the truck, then put the Back to Black on it.

If it's really badly sun-faded, Back to Black will kinda help for a while, but it's not a permanent fix. In that case, you probably want something like this: http://www.superiorcarcare.net/forblacbumtr.html

I used boot dressing, The black dye for uniform boots. It's cheap, durable and comes with it's own aplicator. I had my wife's van detailed once and that's what he used. 6 yrs now on three dif vehicles with no problems.
