Well, you are pretty much comparing apples to watermellons.....yes, the BD kits are cheaper and yes, there is a reason they are cheaper. Unfortunately, you really do "get what you pay for".
If you dont have a lot of performance mods on your truck it will probably do a good job for you as long as you keep and eye on your fp guage.

The BD kit is a nice kit. It uses an oil pressure sensor switch to turn on the pusher pump. Yes the pusher is a Carter. I never had any issues at 450-500 hp or so with the 2 Carters working together. It is supposed to be good for 600 hp if I remember correctly. With the pusher configuration, neither have to work nearly as hard. I think Bully Dog also has a pusher system that uses a Holley Blue or you could make your own with a Bosch relay and whatever pump you choose. The BD kit is a nicely made kit with nice brackets and wiring harnesses though. I also liked the idea of the oil pressure switch to activate the pusher. Fuel pressure was 28-30 psi.
I don't use one anymore because I decided to put a cam in and went with the 12 valve lift pump that operates off the cam.

The BD kit is a nice kit.I have had it on my truck for 2 years in addition to stock pump.
W/comp. on 5x5 going up hill wot, empty it drops to 8psi.
idle 22psi ,cruisin 19 psi.
BD Kit should be used with a fuel line up grade or at least high flow banjo bolts to help wot conditions.
BD may be a cheaper product but works good for me and the price is more in line of what i can afford .

i have had a bd kit on mine since last april, without the factory lift pump at all. the bd/carter pump is the only lift pump on mine.
it supports my 500+ hp without a problem.

I just put a Vulcan relocation big line kit on my truck and it has 13 psi idle and 12 cruise and 10 wot. That is remember, my old lift pump with 40K miles on it and just a relocation kit with 1/2" lines from stock 3/8 pick up at tank to the filter housing and then 3/8 line between filter housing and IP. And no banjo bolts anywhere! Except for the return line junk which is bottle necked in the Injection Pump anyway so no need IMO to upgrade them.

Just trying to understand, but why would you only run the one if you bought the BD kit? I understand that relocating the lift pump to the frame rail helps it live longer, but 2 pumps together make each have less stress on one another. Plus the BD kit has the oil pressure switch to turn the pusher pump on. Sounds like all you needed was a relocation kit if you were only going to run one pump.
