well since i've rebuilt the tranny in my truck once already and am hoping to get a little bit of life out of it i'm looking to add an auxiliary transmission cooler to it. i'm gonna be towing a gooseneck livestock trailer and probably a gooseneck flatbed trailer here in the near future and i want to keep the temps. down. I have been looking at a few but i'm just curious to what anybody else on here would recommend. i'd like to get one with a fan so i don't have to put it up front like the stock one however i really don't have a ton of money to spend on it. the tranny is stock as of right now but if there is any small towing upgrades that i could do for little money i would be up for suggestions on that also. thanks.

I put a Derale #15950 (summit racing has the cheapest and comes with the hose and parts for under $200 shipped 30,000 gvw)
Welded up a little mount under my body and it's tstat is set to 180 for the fan. The Derale 15800 is cheaper but doesn't come with the hose and is only a 25,000 gvw. The fan on the 15800 is pushing 640 cfm's and the 15950 is only 400 cfms. The reason is the 15950 is so much more efficiant it does not need as much fan cooling, the fin design on the cooler is very "cool".

I will posts pics sometime for you to see how I did the mount. I just need to power it to the key with a relay b/c when my truck shuts off and it is still going its pointless b/c the fluid is not moving. JMO
