Aux fuel tank hook-up????

i am looking at installing a RDS 54 gallon tank in my truck. i don't want the gravity feed hook-up. i want to use a 3-way selector valve and switch between the stock tank and this tank.

were is the best place to T into the fuel pick-up line and what do i all need for fittings and so forth??

i have the valve and the tank.

I put mine just behind the xmission xmember, there is a cut-out in the frame that made it easy to put the nuts on the bolts. I also put two gate valves and in line filters between the tanks and the switch/valve.

I cut the lines from the main tank about 10-12" behind and ahead of the xmember and slipped the hose up about 6" and clamped with two hose clamps.

No "T" fittings are used when using a selector valve. Cut the line anywhere between the tank and lift pump. Where ever its convient. Slip rubber hoses over lines and secure with hose clamps(I like to use two facing opposite directions). The lines from each tank goes into the "in" ports on the seclector valve(one should be marked main the other aux), the "out" port goes to the lift pump. The return lines are done the same but in the opposite direction. Make sure the selector valve you use is a 6 port model to acomodate the return lines.
