Aux fuel supply

Just brainstorming here so let me know what you think. Trying get more fuel to the injection pump on a 12 valve street puller. How about keeping the stock lift pump fuel assembly and adding an electric fuel pump to the system only when needed. Lets say for daily driving you rely on the reliable mechanical lift pump of the 12 valve. Go to a pull and need more fuel to the injection pump. Run a another fuel pickup to the tank, an electric fuel pump to drive the fuel, and run this straight to the injection pump inlet through a tapped out banjo bolt. I would think the aux pump line what have to have a check valve to prevent the lift pump pumping fuel back to the electric pump when the elctric pump is not in use. How does this sound? opinions? Other ideas?? Of course this would be with I modded injection pump and some big sticks to support the extra fuel needed. Whatcha think??

Haisley has a aux. fuel system like that for the 12v, one you just use at pulls or at the raceway.

Theirs comes with a pickup tube and all,

You can also do this yourself, not too hard.

I have this exact pump that they sell i bought and i went with a totally new fuel system, if interested?

Gunracer, Im interested in hearing the details on how the boost turns on the extra fuel pump.

Clawson, I would be interested in the details of your setup as well. So you bypassed the lift pump and filter?? What did you replace it with?? Im also interested in hearing your opinions on some of the bigger turbos you have tried. I currently have J.R.'s hybrid switzer and I need something bigger to compete at a few pulls this summer. Not sure of I want to go to twins just yet. If I do I will probably use the switzer I have and a HT60. Not just yet though.

Anyone else care to chime in??

Ive never used a hobbs switch but have heard about them and know how they work. By your description it sounds like it could work very well and easy to set up. Thanks for the info!!!

im curious how to regulate fuel from going back through to the other supply line. Would a simple check valve in each line work?? Also, does the aux pump have any type of filter?? Last, where is the best place to run a fuel pressure gauge??

Thanks,
Chad

Remove the injection pump inlet banjo bolt, drill and tap an 1/8" port on the top of it.
