Autometer cobalt gauges WAY too bright
Have them hooked up to the light that lights the little storage compartment under the radio, even when you use the dimmer to calm it down it stinks when its dark on the highway...... Any of the electrical wizards have a fix/cure? Arrgghh shoulda bought the isspro that just light up nice and dimly,.....
Can a guy put a resistor inline or something to cut the power to the lights in the guage..... Right now i have a business card cut to fit the guage, and a slot on top to see the upper end of the egts..... Looks bush...

Had the same issue with the Autometer Lunar series gauges when I first installed them. Those are LED lit gauges and cant be dimmed thru the dash dimmer circuit .Autometer sell a special dimmer for those for about $29 that will solve your problem.Geno,s garage and Summit racing sell them.

I did this exact thing. Cut the power wire, put the resistor in place, and reconnect. It really brought the brightness down to a nice level to where it wouldn't bother me at night driving.

What value resistor are you guys using? I'd imagine just a couple Ohms would do the trick, right?
Another option is just cut a little circle of window tint and overlay it on the face. Since tint comes in so many values you can get the exact brightness you want. Obviously, you lose some adjustability this way
