Auto-meter F/P Gauge Again
Well I had the new auto meter digital fuel pressure gauge (from my last post) and I was waiting for the high flow banjo bolts to come in from Geno's. I'm couldn't resist getting the gauge installed and so.....I put the gauge back on the vp-44. I saw something interesting. The first couple days that the gauge was on the vp-44 the movement was slow and steady. After the second day I saw that the movement was becoming more "jerky" and I was seeing a lot of needle wobble. That continued for several days while the truck was idling and during normal runs.

Tonight I received the high flow banjo bolts. I installed all five of the bolts and put the tapped bolt on the outgoing line from the fuel filter. I also replaced the fuel filter while I was doing the banjo bolts. After I finally got the truck started, I saw that I had about 14.5psi at idle. That was up about 1-1.5psi. During the test drive I noted that the psi was up at cruise and WOT about 2psi from before the banjo bolts.

What really caught my attention was that the needle wobble was gone and the gauge once again was moving slowly and the pressure readings were easier to read due to the lack of the needle wobble that I had in the first gauge (until it gave out) and the second. I am going to keep an eye out if anyone is interested in how it responds long term.
