ATS Transmission Pan
So some time this month I have to get under the truck and change the transmission fluid and filter.. I hate having to wrestle the stock pan out and spill fluid everytwhere.. I thought of just sucking it out but I would like to add something that will benifit it and help prolong transmission life.
So my question is..
Do you think this transmission pan is worth the extra bucks and the ease of service or am I better off putting the money in my pocket and sucking the fluid out with a pump to avoid making a mess?
ATS Aluminium transmission pan, 5 Quarts over stock , 1" Magnetic drain bolt , Heavy Duty heat sink, temp probe mount, black powdercoat..
its also supposed to lower the transmission temp by 30 degrees.
The damage is around $325.27 Canadian Dollars + S&H or about $275 Greenbacks .

Fits 88 - 06

I heard a tranny guy say that he doesn't bother with deep pans anymore, as they don't give you that much extra cooling, and are a pain to work with. Unfortunately I heard this after putting deep pans on BOTH my trucks.
The drain plug is the best part about these pans, in my opinion, but if you can do that for 3 bucks, well....
If you must, you could get one cheaper from mycovers.com, but it doesn't come with a filter extender to mount the filter lower in the pan.
