arp headstuds, thread sealant with moly lube?
im installing my arp 12mm headstuds and when i pulled the first one i noticed coolant came up then treading in the first stud. my question is, do i use a thread sealer on the bottom threads and the arp moly lube on the top threads or use them both on the bottom? also, does anyone know which studs will need sealant? and when you retorque them after a warmup and a week after driving wont that break the seals? thanks for the input!

Hi I just did head studs on mine.I was just going to do one stud at a time.but when I pulled one of the bolts out coolant came out.so I pulled the head and found the head gasket had failed.there is no need for sealant.on the threads.so I would pull the head .check the fire deck with a straight edge.if ok install a new gasket and do a couple of retorqes.

Shouldn't be coolant in any of the holes, AFAIK they are all blind holes. Both of my trucks, plus the the two engines I have outside of trucks were all blind holes with only oil on the threads. One '94, two '98's and a '00 engine.
