Anyway make the fuel system bulletproof

I was wondering what if anything can be done to fix the fuel system on my truck, ie the fass system, holley pump, bd pump on the frame, blue chip rebuilt unit, larger fuel line. I know every one on here has some clue on what to do I would like to just get her as close to being bulletproof as I can. Ive lost one pump already at 44,000 miles and dont wanna lose another. Any helpo would be greatly appreciated

A search will come up with a ton of different ideas and approaches.

This subject had been brutally beat to death lately.

All the options you mention are electronic. I beleive Fass offers a 4 year warrenty, but they aren't bulletproof. Mechanical options are what will give reliability. Basically,as far as I know there are two mechanical setups and neither is cheap.

#1 Would be the Rasp system http://www.koengineering.com/

#2 Would be one of Don's cams with a lobe to run a cummins fp http://www.f1diesel.com/whatsnew.html (look at July '04)

Of course the cam offers other benefits, but its pretty labor intensive getting this set up. The Rasp has a belt that can break, but keeps the oem setup as backup

You can use the setup i have running my SVO kit which is less then the price of the FASS system and TWICE THE DURABILITY and TWICE THE PROTECTION.

the thing i like about this setup so far is before i ran the setup on single pump setup and the pump was pulling 13 amps at the pump. Since filters running a SVO setup last about 10k miles i decided to run a dual filter setup so i can get twice the distance before changing of filters. The twin pump setup runs about 4.5 amps per pump when both pumps are pumping. I setup a very cheap amp gauge with a toggle switch on the control board. as the filters start to clog you will notice a rise in ampage. Im doing test to figure out the target ampage reading for changing of the filters.
