Uses a Custom B-1 Downpipe. Full B-1 will spool as slow or slower than your Lil 55/16, IMO.

Based on my expirience with a KSB-1 (same compressor).... B-1's are a lot easier to bark and have a lot higher pitched turbo whine. Much more in-cab noise!

I'm running a full B-1 with my mods and it spools pretty good. Maybe the B-1-2 would work good for you. It spools up a lot better than the full B-1, but it won't support as much top end power.

Last dyno run was right at 456HP. I didn't really understand how much power you were running either I was just making a suggestion.

One other fact I dug out of my bookmarked threads.....
B-1 move about 950 cfm cool air
HX-55 moves 1050 cfm. (this may be the standard HX-55, with the 66mm Compressor bore, and not the lil 55 with a 64 mm)

Either way I don't see the Full B-1 as a step up from the Lil-55. Both move a lot of air and are a big step up from HX-35 or HX-40. Both have upgraded oiling system, zero balancing, high flow housings and stronger shafts. Just don't think it's the upgrade your looking for.

RJ im looking to downgrade one step from the lil 55. i need something with a 12 or 14 cm housing that still moves lots more air than stock...but this 55 is not a good street mannered turbo with the 16cm housing. i wanna go one step smaller for better spool up even if it does mean i lose 100cfm on the top. egt's are well under control now, and were controllable with my right foot on the hx35/14 i had before, so soemwhere in between will leave me with a drivable set-up, and egts that are pretty much under control unless i wanna try to break a land speed record

It seems kind of "obvious," but why not just slap a smaller housing on your lil'55? If it need be, you can have the exhaust housing machined larger to(to fit you turbine wheel). I would just talk to J.R. about getting a smaller housing. My 17 cm housing had to be machined out to fit over my exhaust wheel, but it is much larger than the lil' 55 wheel.

because its $700 for a 14cm housing for the 55, as quoted to me by JR...id rather swap them out for an even trade or even trade plus $100-200 but im not gonna put another $700 into a used turbo when i can send it to someone who can use its bigger size and ill get something smaller
