Dakota Digital

Jerry B4;

I've had my Dakota Digital fuel pressure gauge inservice fro about 2 years or better with no problems. The supplied VDO sender is attached to the VP-44 via a 18" grease gun hose.

In fact, the Dakota helped me get a repalcement lift pump form the dealer under warranty.

could you supply pics or more details about this setup with the hose? is the sender hard mounted to the inner fender or something?
sounds like what i want to do.

I used this hose from Genos. Fuel line
This fuel line goes from the service port on the VP44 to the sending unit for the gauge.

I installed the A/M UltraLite Electric FP gauge 3 months ago and have had no problems.

You will not need the banjo bolt with this hose. As far as mounting the sender, I used a tie wrap to hold it in place on the inner fender. The hose will absorb any vibrations from the motor.

i hope this works on mine. it says 00-02 and mine is a 99.
so you don't need the banjo bolt, because the hose replaces it? i am sure i can make this thing work.

This is how I installed my shut-off valve...
Fuel shut off valve mount
I bought an angle brace from Home Depot and screwed it to the inside of my fender..

Can you use a mechanical gauge off the VP service port? And just use either an isolater or check valve, and just use it with that hose? Just screw the needle valve into the hose?

FP Gauge

XJ;
I don't have a digital camera but I replaced all my banjos iwth Thorsen oversized banjo bolts. I bought one tapped which I installed on the VP-44 test port. The grease gun hose screws right in the tapped banjo. Use petrol resistant teflon tape. The pressure sender screwsa to the other end. I wire tied it to the power steering hoses.

Follw install instructions for the gauge you purchase.

i was thinking about that, but genos is already taking care of me. the more fittings the more risk of leaks imo.
where do you get the sealant for the fittings?

JC,
Which Dakota gage are you using, ,there is a major price difference between the senders.
