Anyone install the The 3K GSK with Automatic Trans?
This is what I'd like to install on my '94. It is all stock..but I see the ad's claim it really works best with.. standard transmission trucks...here is what the Peak Diesel Performance states; "The 3K GSK (3000 rpm Governor Spring Kit) works exceptionally well with standard transmission trucks"...So I was wondering if it is worth it?? all comments welcome! looks like about $105.00..is that right?? thanks

did that to my 95 and YES it was worth it. Pulling a fiver the truck would not pull over 2000 rpm ; that is not a problem now. One of the best mods I did so far. The 10 torque plate was next lol.

I've always read that you're better off installing the 4k. Everyone says you'll wish you had. You just have to watch your rpm's and not rev passed 3500 I believe. I'm planning on installing the 4k on my '96 auto.

I did read about the 4000 rpm spring and I can`t remember if it was to sensitive for towing and would be jerky. The kit I got was a 4000 rpm kit for around 85$ ;but I did not use all the springs the kit has. I can still add them but I like the truck the way it is now.

I'm happy with 3k on my trucks but you should just buy the 4k and not use all the springs.
Save them for later just in case.

3k spring kit on both of my 96s. No complaints, they work great. I'm never turning over 2,500 rpm anyway. Can't imagine needing the 4k springs, but that's just me. I work and pull a lot and play a little, but never see north of about 2,500 rpm. I wonder how fast a 96 auto tranny is going at 3,000 rpm? [Hope the front end is in good shape at that speed.]
