Anyone have a sound clip of 12v with just cat removed?

Does anyone have a sound clip of a 12 valve with just the cattalytec converter removed, but nothing else. My dads truck is bone stock, but ive been trying to get him to at least take the cattalytec converter off, even if he leaves the muffler on, because he doesent want a full straight pipe. I think he would consider it if he heard one setup like that. Will he be able to tell any power difference at all? Any sound clips would be nice. Thanks guys.

I have never noticed a difference in sound with or without a cat. They didn't have cats until about halfway through 94 and I think they sound the same. I don't think there will be a noticeable difference in power, either, unless the cat is starting to plug up.

94-EARLY98 12-VALVES AND AGAIN IN LATE 2004-CURRENT 98.5-2002 HAD RESINATORS. AND 2003-EARLY 2004 HAD JUST MUFFLER.

The removal of just the CAT give a little more whistle of the turbine and some more growl under load, I do get more of a drone, but its minimal. Other than that there isn't a really big change in tone.

The big difference is the 2 psi boost increase and the 150°F drop in EGT's.

And No they don't have to be plugged to create that kind of back pressure, they are inherently restrictive to work properly. Drop that sucker out of there and don't worry about the noise. It will sound more like it should.

Its a subtle change.
