on your '00 you should only have it on the front part of the truck I believe.
biggest problem w/ taking it off of the earlier trucks is a lot of time the paint will be stained yellow from diesel dripping down under the fuel door and getting soaked up by the foam and glue and sitting against the paint.
otherwise, it's no biggie at all. you can pull the trim off on a nice hot sunny day and/or use some fishing line to kinda saw through the glue. then use a 3M eraser wheel on a LOW SPEED drill to clean off all of the glue residue

you can use goo gone, but a 3M eraser wheel is the easiest/fastest/cleanest way to do it. If you've got an English Color or other automotive paint/detail supply store near you, they'll have them.
I use a cordless 2 speed drill, and just use the slow speed. It's painfully simple. They use eraser wheels to remove stickers, pinstripes, etc. They work GREAT!
