Anyone else experience this...(xzt+COMP)

I loaded the XZT+COMP tune this morning before leaving for work. Once I got to work - about 4 miles - the truck was idling rough. I switched to the off position and saw no change in the rough idle. I checked for codes and none were present. I did not have time to do anything else. I'll look at it tonight and re-load the 3000 tune that worked perfectly. Anyone else experience this?

Yes I have it too. It's happened a few times. Usually after a about ten minutes. First time I shut it off and started it back up and it ran fine. Second time (Different day) I put it in neutural reved it up a few times and it cleared. Today I had a hard time shaking it. Shut it off a few times and it just would start with the missing idle and reving up to about 2200 on it's own. Very disturbing on an automatic, cause the thing just wants to take off on you unless put it in neutural. I am running the 2000 tune and this just started a week or so ago. I did find a couple of codes today and cleared them. (Overboost), but they could have been there since my dyno runs this weekend. I have run some searches (thats how I found this thread) and not found any answers. Anybody got any ideas?

Here's an update to my original post.

After work, before starting the truck, I loaded the original 3000 tune. When I started the truck, it was still idling rough. It cleared at about 1300 RPMs, so I held it there. After 30 seconds or so, I let off and it was idling smooth. I drove home and back to work this morning with no problems. I guess I will keep the 3000 tune loaded.

I like mine. Stacks well with the Banks Ottomind. Downloadable tunes, and from what I have heard dynomite customer support. Double check the web site before you buy. Some sellers are blacklisted and you would want to avoid them.

i loaded the comp tune and it seemed great to me, but then my truck had a hard time starting. thought it was the comp tune causing it, but it wasnt. it was a bad sealing washer from a recent pump change. the only issue i had was a slight, and i mean very slight surge at 1800rpm. i have the 2000 tune now and it is perfect.

Every once in awhile it will lay down some smoke from 50 - to 80 at WOT. But for the most part it runs clean. I have mine stacked with the banks and am running the published aggressive tune. (The 2000) The Banks may be controlling the smoke. The guys with the 3000 tune are running a Beta tune and it may smoke, I am told it is competition tune and is getting the most possible out of the IP without tapping the wire.

My Map sensor went out. Threw the 0237 code. Put a tester on it and it is dead. So I am in limp mode. Once in a while it starts to work and it will run rough them smooth out. But when I shut down and fire up again it is gone. I have a new map on order from the local cummins parts house but it won't come in until monday. $47.00 at cummins $120 elsewhere. I will wait until monday.

hogboy, I'm running the 3000 tune and it smokes good (better than any other tune I've ran so far), but it cleans up quick. If I'm cruising in 6th at 45 MPH and get on it, it will lay some smoke (You can actually see $5.00 bills flying out of the tail pipe). I noticed the same amount of smoke with the comp tune for the short time I had it installed. I'm going to try the published 2000 tune and see how my truck likes it. Otherwise, I'm completely happy with the 3000 tune - no surging at all. I usually cruise around on the timing setting, but It's nice knowing that all I have to do is flip a switch to give this thing some cahones when needed.

There should be a little square raising on the washer behind the outside nut. I'm pretty sure that the washer stays in the same place. If you have the toggle switched to that square on the washer, that will be the off setting.

(This is set to the middle position, up would be off and down would be fuel & timing)

There's only one setting where you will feel the "seat of your pants" power. That's the timing + fuel setting. The middle position is timing. The last position is off.
