That's the same ball park I'm in....if we can get a wreck for 5-6k I'll do it, maybe sell some of the other parts, and the old auto and recoup a little bit of the costs, but to me it may be worth that extra 1000 or so to have a manual and just keep replacing clutches instead of the entire auto. I think the auto I wanted was about that, maybe closer to 5k.

Plus I'm not sure how the truck would drive with a stick and that big of tire....granted the gearing I have helps, but it might suck or might not....I'm not sure??

I ran my jeep on the street, 4.56, nv4500 and 37 mtr's for ever. I drove it up the hills, 75-90 up I70....no prob and it was quick off the line too. And that was just with the 4.0 HO. I doubt you'd have any problems. WHat's your daily driver then? Tell me it's not the cherokee. Actually I'd kill to drive my jeep every day, just not street legal any more.
Any dealings with the ECM before....how hard will that be to swap out? Hopefully it's a plug and play. I'd hate to get everything swapped in and then have that be the problem.

LOL nope not the Cherokee......I'd shoot myself!!! I have a few different things to drive....my Dodge, an 02 Avalanche, a 98 Grand Cherokee ( usually drive everyday )....and then a few toys that just sit.
Yeah my Cherokee is no longer street legal as of tonight actually!! Gonna start cutting more off....gonna make it a tube buggy.
The ecm I don't think should be a problem, if you get a full truck it should just unplug and plug back in......I don't see it being any harder than that!!

I guess so, but I'll be laughing when we have our 5 or 6 speeds and we smoke them.....
Do you know if we can put in the 6 speeds or not? What year did they start puttin in the 6 speed?

As far as I know we can't do the 6 speeds, I think they mount up different on the H.O. block....or that's what I've heard. I'm sure somebody probably makes an adapter so that it can be done. And 2001 was the first year

Talk to Tyler if he's available. He runs the place so he can give you the final say. I would get the parts yourself. Find a wrecked 5spd and take the flywheel, tranny, tcase, driveshafts, crossmember(s), clutch hydraulics, pedal assembly, ecm, steering column and gauge cluster. That's all I can think off off the top of my head. There's always little things that come up that you can't foresee. Also manuals came with a D80, so take it easy on your 70 it might blow up
