Anybody make their own big line kit?

Just wondering if any body has done this because I can get 1/2'' and 3/8'' hose for free just don't know about the fittings yet. Also does the lift pump have to be relocated, will just the bigger line help with pressure because I noticed on the glacier website they have a kit where the lift pump stays in the factory location, Anybody?

I did as well. Vulcan will sell you the individual fittings you need and I went from there.

Actually I'm preparing to do this same thing.

I was talking about the Vulcan with one of my diesel mechanic friends. I said that I'd feel better with a hard line kit and that I was trying to figure out the best way to incorporate JIC fittings (I only have a SAE 45 flair tool).

My buddy said that all the big trucks have 300 PSI reinforced fuel hose, and that nobody is really using hard lines all the way to the motor. Also gave me the history on the copper lines that would shatter over time (even high pressure lines).
Anyhow before I go on a huge tangent I decided to purchase the fittings and hose through him since he can get it for cost.

Thanks very much for the URL Any additional information would be helpful. Does everyone just stop short of the tank? It would be nice to upgrade all the way to the pickup/sender.

Check out the Vulcan Draw Straw. I don't have one, but I've read good reports about it.

why not? whoever you buy a "kit" from isn't actually manufacturing the stuff!

I got tired of fighting the low fuel pressure and dead LP's, so I laid down the money and got a new pump, braided lines & fittings from Summit Racing...made a custom pick-up in the tank and tapped the stock filter housing to a larger standard size...pictures are in my gallery...took time, but I DON'T regret doing it...

yes. and the hose I used is Goodyear Insta-grip, 300psi rated. I looked at the fittings on vulcan web site.....thats near HIGHWAY robbery with those fitting prices....AND its in US dollars to make it worse......any and I mean any hydraulics shop can get you JIC/Metric fittings.......and it better be less than $8 a fitting........ thats just obscene.

I'm sure to get some never use that stuff for fuel line but here goes. I used the hard plastic air line off of big trucks for the lines on my truck. I talked to a big truck guy that had used it for years and hadn't had any problems with it. The stuff is super abrasive resistent and good up in the 2 to 300 psi range. Fittings aren't bad and the line is decent priced.
