I'd think you'd want that cold pipe tighter, to make room for other stuff under the hood. I had a great big swing on my cold pipe in the beginning, but took 3 elbows and 1 45 degree, all 3.5" and made a very tight cold pipe. I want to put my second battery back in though, and a different air filter setup. Maybe you're not worried about that.
I wish the measurements were easier to do. I'd make one for you. If you ever get to Va.....

You can see pics of my new cold pipe in my gallery once the admin approves them. I'll need to take a pic of it finished and installed. I thought I had one but can't find it now.

i agree. the cast elbow i got kinda made the decision for me though. it's a little bit longer radius than the tightest 4" i could find, which is what the rest is made of. i will be checking your pics out. what did you do for your oil return on the big one? does your block have the auxiliary hole? i've been wondering if i can just "y" into the existing one. haven't been able to find too much info though.

I have the second return hole so I just used that.
If you decide to go tighter, you can turn the cast elbow up and then elbow towards the front at the height of the small turbo intake, then 180 around to the small turbo intake. You may want to clock the big turbo up a little, if there's room. I removed my factory WG so I was able to clock the turbo up to about 10:00. This helped tighten things up.

24 valve blocks have the second return hole. I'd suggest putting a fitting in the side of the pan for the bottom turbo. If you have any restriction at all on the return line the turbo will push oil past the seals.

yeah, that's kinda what i figured dave. hoping there would be an easier way, cuz to do that right is going to be a major pita. oh well.

looks like a nice set-up, stamey. is it already up and running? you just did this for space issues, correct? if so, i think i'll be ok. all i've got over there is the washer fluid. easy enough to move. thanks for the input.

Yes, for space, plus it looks much better. I want to put my second battery back in there, and give more room for the air filter. The old pipe was intruding on the air filter too much.
I saw how tight someone else's cold pipe was in Muncie last year and decided I could do the same thing.

For the oil return you might want to check the dia of the hole in the block. If the "area" of the hole going through your fitting or an aftermarket fitting etc. is more than that of the 2 lines added together, than you should have no problems. Secondly, you may be able to return one of the turbo lines through one of the valve covers?

ps your project is very inspiring. I may try to have my own set of twins some day.

well, thanks for all the help everybody. i just added some pics of the (almost) finished product. some more grinding and painting and it will be totally done. drove it the other night though. WOW!!!! is all i have to say. maybe i've just been driving the little 4 banger for a little too long, but she seems to get up and go quite a bit better. didn't push it to any kind of extreme (the tranny is about to explode), but the highest egt i could see was somewhere just over 1100*. 40 psi boost seemed to be about all she could do. i guess i need more fuel. too dark to see what the drive pressure gauge was saying. once i get 'er running good, i'll let you guys know.
