Cool Any Good Racing Stories?

One of my main motivators for building up my truck, other than my own lust for power, is to slap around some rice rockets. I find it rather amusing that some of these guys can even fathom that their 1.8 liter wing monsters---which they drive to 7-11 for 2.0 liters of Coca-Cola---are fast. Granted, on occasion some of these guys can seriously run, but it's rare. I'll admit that I did have my a$$ handed to me by an awd Eclipse when I still had my 1972 Nova--a true swap meet racer, it was worth a total of about $3000 and had best run of 13.37 on the 1320. I really want to see the looks on some of these guys' faces when I give them business with a diesel.

Does anyone have any really good stories about knocking the socks off ricers, 5.0s, etc?

What are some of you running the 1/4?

Well, you're gonna have to put a lot more $$$ into your Ram than your Nova to reach the bottom half of the 13's!

... but modding will get your 2nd gen to the 12's or lower if you've got the bucks in the budget.

It's all relative, though.
I remember racing a newer Imala SS from the electronics class heads-up with the '05 service truck - he was barely edging out our deep-15 quarter mile every time... seemed pretty happy about it, so I was nice enough to remind him that our vehicle weighed 3 times what his did!

EDIT: since then, we did manage to put the trucks on a diet - down to GVWR now - from 10K# curb.

It's always a lot of fun reminding guys how much these tanks weigh.

I think the best one for me was not only blowing a civic with a turbo off the road with my 96, it was the fact that I blew a clap load of soot all over his pearl white car. That almost caused a fight.

I havent gotten to race many ricers. I have beaten all of them i have ever raced at the strip, but i havent raced anything turbo yet. When i get a billet Goerend, hopefully real soon, and throw in the new era 370's ill be ready to eat some rice though
