Another question about the COMP?

Can there be any possible way for the COMP to make my throttle stick??? I'm trying to rule some things out to why my dang throttle is sticking!?!?!?!

This morning I was heading to work and for some odd reason my throttle stuck and I couldn't get it to stop. I mashed on the brakes and it kept acting like it wanted to go, so I shifted into neutral and it rev'd to about 1900 and wouldn't come back down. So I shut the truck off, re-started it and everything was fine. When it happened I didn't even think about shutting the COMP off, but I really don't see how that thing could be the problem...........but like I said I'm coming up with nothing so everything right now could be a culprit!!!

Checked the codes and nothing came up, no check engine light or anything...........I'm totally lost here and need some help figuring this thing out so I don't end up hurting myself or someone else.......and FOR SURE not my truck!!!!

Thanks guys

~Nick

Is your problem electric? should have check engine light on and codes showing! If mechaical you need to check and adjust/lube the throttle linkage!
Let us know what you find.

I've never heard of a comp causing that but there's always a first time for everything.

Yeah me neither but I'm lost as what it could be!!! As said above, if it was electrical it should ( note I said should ) throw a code or something. I'll have to check the linkage and see if that's the culprit...... scared the poo poo out of me is all I know!!

I don't blame ya. It'd scare the stuffing out of me as well if my truck just suddenly started accelerating. It may be the comp. I've seen one that just completely killed the truck one day for no rhyme or reason. Just killed it. We thought it was the injection pump but it turns out it was just the wiring harness itself and not the comp.

It actually did it for a brief moment last night coming up to a stop sign, but as soon as I hit the brakes it kicked off and everything was fine.......and then was perfectly fine until this morning......it was freakin weird

How about something as simple as a frayed throttle cable. A few strands may be catching on the cable housing. I know I have a few broke on mine.
