another question????

OK you guys are gunna be sick of me but i need some more advice. Ok alot of you know about my situation with the cops and him harassing me, and im toying with the idea of selling my truck and getting an older one, but, what about this? how much do ya thnk it would cost me to take of my 5" lift and put on a 3" lift. How big of a PITA would it be? what parts are interchangeable with the other? I REALLY DONT WANT TO SELL IT!! and then id get some rims with more backspacing to suck em in a bit more than they are now. Do you guys think it would be worth it to do, or just say the heck with it and sell it? sorry to keep bugin ya about it. thanks in advance (again)
Oh and i think if i did this than the cop wouldnt have anything on me and would HAVE to leave me alone

Let me know if you decide to remove your lift, I would be interested in it.

I think your best bet would be to sell the truck. When you do find one that will suit you best, then throw on the 3" lift. Removing the lift is a major PITA, but if you nothing better to do on a weekend, then go for it. If you are in love with your truck as much as the rest of us are, then rip it apart!! If not, then find one that you do love and jack her up 3". All depends on what you wanna do with your current truck.

Keep on keeping on,

Hunter

well i put on the lift so i know how big of a PITA it is, but now that ive done it once, i could whip through it real quick. i think when i do take it off i will replace it with just a leveling kit and some 35/12.5/17 bfg muds. or maybe just some 315/70/17 (little bit smaller) so if anyone wants the lift, tires and wheels, let me know.

First I saw of your cop problem rjordan. That sucks man, I guess the cops don't have anything better to do in your area. There's lots of trucks here bigger than that, and I never see 'em pulled over. Too bad....disgust !

I'll agree with moose, there are a plethera of trucks here in Aggieland that have atleast 12" of lift, and more, and I have never seen not one of them pulled over. The cops here are really bad (but in a good way though) so I'm suprised that they are giving you heck over your truck.

Well another solution is that if you love your truck THAT much, you can always move to a place where they don't give you any trouble!!!!

A 5in lift is legal anywhere especially with 35s your bumper height is legal your headlight height and frame height is also legal. You should be well below utahs lift law height put on a set of mudflaps, a cloud the son of a *****.My buddys got a dodge here in washington its got 12in lift 42s hasnt been pulled over once. Lookup the height law in Utah To make sure then the next time you get pulled over file a complaint for harassment on that officer.

I agree. There are a ton of trucks here in the great state of texas that have well over 12" of lift without any problems. But then again, everything is bigger in Texas. I say you look up your local height laws and the next time you get pulled over, file a complaint about it.

I agree about the complaint too. But be careful, because he could be one of those cops that are on a power trip and you are his little *****. If you make him mad it might only get worse, and who's to say that if you put the 3" in that he will stop harassing you?
