Another fuel pressure gauge question, for the 12V folks

Guys

ive done the FP thing before time and again, this is just a concern. I just shut off my FP needle valve (about finger tight) and noticed that My FP gauge was still giving me a reading.

Ironically so, with the needle valve closed at finger tight i now get the readings on the darn thing that im supposed to. It does drop down to 0, but i have seen it as high as 36 psi today in the short while i drove with the needle valve closed.

After some experimenting i noticed that if i open the needle valve to the point where the gauge is pulsating really badly, the needle valve sees as high as 40 psi on some occasions before it gets to 0 or goes haywire on me again,

If i close this thing to just being barely opened up, it reads 10 psi at idle, and pressure steadily goes up as i accelerate to just about 20-22 psi at best,

I do have an identical FP gauge from isspro again that im thinking about replacing my current one with, but i have to ask,,

Whats the deal with my gauge with the needle valve closed? im not certain as towards whats up?

also is my setup, braided line to a connection that connects to boost tube line, affecting my readings as well?

Thanks!

Respectully

Rick

Sounds like the needle valve is leaking even when fully closed.

With it leaking closed the readings will be slow but it no big deal at since FP is really just a series of averages rather than a solid number.

Only problem I can think of with it leaking at closed, is that if you get a leak at the gauge or somewhere inbetween that and the valve, you can't close it off.

I'm going to be adding one here shortly. Stupid thing.
