Another first place hook, broke rear driveshaft to boot!
Went back on the road yesterday with our new 3 week old baby after being off the road for 5 weeks.
Mazomanie WI hook September 9th. Hot Diesel Class.
Track wasn't the best, some sections were soft, some hard, so I was constantly locking and unlocking to keep the wheelspeed up and stay on top of the charger.
Broke the rear driveshaft, which surprised me as it is built fairly stout, 4" tubing .180 thick. It broke right at the welds.

1600-1800 I'd imagine. I do run some water so I imagine it probably could get hotter than that.
I watch the rpm's and track mainly but I know I've seen the needle at 1700 when I've shut it down at the end of the track.
