you guys know they are making 6 inch kits now? pretty soon you all will be saying
"go with a 5 unless you have over 500 hp, then the 6 is good, otherwise its a waste, but it sounds great!"

A four inch system is plenty to get the job done efficiently and will sound great!
A four inch without muffler, same deal, and will get louder.
A five inch with muffler will be fairly loud all of the time and really loud when you racing someone.
A five inch without the muffler will cause you to loose your hearing and you will be forced to move to a new town.

since we are on the subject. I currently have 4" from the turbo out with nothing but pipe. When I put my 5" stacks on, will it make a BIG difference in noise level outside the truck? Don't care bout in cab, just wondering about what others hear.

Imagine if you had straight piped duals except now they are in the bed right behind the cab window.....plenty loud and the smoke is much cooler looking when they are up there.

Just reinstalled Skynards Silverline 409ss duals tonight. they sound really good and look great although the clamps really suck. That's why we had to reinstall it. one fell off
I have the Motoblue 4"duals straight out the rear and they aren't too loud and work great for tailgaters.
If the tip is included with the exhaust it sould say it in the description. Rpmoutlet has some pretty good exhausts and not too expensive.

I have a 4inch strait pipe sounds great...( in my 12v) im looking at changing the exhuast in the 2004 to a 4inch down pipe and 6 inch exhuast that comes out before the rear tire, its just because i have an 8 foot semi stack layin around that i can use, and the trucks has about 500hp so that wont matter... hehe should sound good.
also the 6 inch lift brings that 6in side exhuast right about where rice burners windows are going to be at. hehehe

I'm halfway thinking of upgrading the exhaust, but I like the quiet I have now (that being a relative thing of course). A stock CTD is never going to be as quiet as a stock gasser. But I don't want to have a big increase in noise, especially in the cab.

I'm running the stock downpipe into 4" pipe then into 5" stacks and it is LOUD! Most of the people I know have complained when I go to there houses, and I cant drive with the windows down! I LOVE IT!
