Another clutch Q,SORRY!!
I did a couple of searches and spent two hours reading and couldn't quite get all my questions anwered.
i have a 1998.5 Q cab 5SP 4x4 with 130k new inj pump, afe intake, 6" muffler(stock exhaust) 265/70r17 tires, stock gears, and i tow a 10k 5th wheel toy hauler.
I will be getting a Edge juice w/attitude this week.
what i am worried about is the clutch, i know i will slip the current one, it is the original clutch, so i know i need a new one, Q-is which one.
I do not plan on going with any more power upgrades other than a full exhaust.
i tow over MT Hood here in oregon regularly, so i need one that can hold up, BUT i do drive it daily(about 30k a year) so do not want one that is going to jerk me all over the place.
at the same time i would rather not spend over 700 bucks ona a clutch.
what HP/tourqe will i be running(i do care to brag, i just want to order the correct clutch)
there seems to a GREAT wealth of knowlegde here, can't wait to dig deeper into it, thanks for your help, and sorrry if i was too STUPID to find the answer to my question.

A southbend Con OFE would work and have more room to grow if you ever wanted too. Mine 2000 is running 363 hp/860 tq with, F1 1.6's, HRVP, SMARTY on #9, Con OFE w/ larger flywheel.
Call southbend and ask them, seeing as how your towing they are probably going to recommend you upgrade to the larger flywheel/clutch center section.
tinbanger- welcome to DTR, your right, there is a huge knowledge base here and fill out your signature in the User CP when you have a chance so we can see what you have every time you post.
My experience is with southbend clutches, but I'm sure the other guys that are running something different will chime in with their thoughts.

There are a few cheaper options, (Valair and Zoom come to mind) but they are not nearly as proven as the SB. But I have heardgood things about both of them.

I have the valair ceramic clutch and am happy with it. Only complaint I had was that it took forever to break it in. It was near impossible to pull out smoothly for the first 2 or 3 months. But when it finally got broke in, it is almost as smooth as stock. It flat holds too. I cannot slip it if I try. I've had it for about 9-10,000 miles now, so I don't know about longterm durability. I have towed heavy with a few times and it did really well. From everything I have heard you cannot go wrong with Southbend, but for a cheaper alternative Valair is worth checking into.
