AMSOIL MTF = Impressed!
Changed my tranny fluid today in my NV5600 6 speed
Was pretty easy. A little awkward to pour the fluid in but not too bad.
Neither the fill or drain plug were tough to get out. Although I had to buy a Snap On 17mm hex plug. Was like $14
I only fit in 4 quarts, but it came right up to the fill plug. Must still have some old stuff in there.
Anyways, shifts a lot smoother now. Very nice difference. Feels like I can row through the gears a lot quicker. Even played with a fast 1 to 2 shift and its sooooo much better.
I still get denied putting it in reverse sometimes. I put in 2nd and then go over and it goes in. Sometimes you have to do that a couple of times. But o well. You never get R instead of 5th at least I had driven higher mileage 6 speeds were it went into reverse easy but was also easy to slide toward reverse instead of 5th.
I was also getting a little gear to gear feel from 2 to 3 before, sometimes. Now its smooth.
Definitely recommend it. I only have 37k on the clock and the fluid looked clean. But I am happy with the difference.
My next task, is to put Amsoil 80W-90 front and back, as well as Amsoil ATF in the transfer case. Maybe get it done Saturday.
Question on transfer case. There are two allen plugs on the back side. Assuming top is fill plug, bottom is drain, correct? What size are those?

Thanks
Will have to get to the transfer case later
Got front and rear diffs done today. Used the right stuff to seal it up. Hopefully it works.

I've changed mine, but it was a while ago.
