Question AMSOIL Antifreeze

Has anyone used the AMSOIL antifreeze?????

I'm considering using this for it's,,,, supposed superior antirust qualities not to menetion it's longevity. It's compatable with all other antifreezes.

When I heard about it's metal protecting advantages, and being that I'm a "53 Block" member, I thought it might be a good idea to switch over as a maintenance procedure against the 53 cracking. The truck is due for a coolant change.

Any opinions or experiences????

My feeling is when ever you use a expensive coolant Mr Murphy comes along and a hose, water pump, etc fails and you lose it all.

If you want a good aftermarket antifreeze look at Evan's Waterless. It has a boiling point around 370*F, so there is no longer a need to pressurize the system. Without the pressure surges it'd take the sysem a very long time to ruin a hose or radiator as all it is doing is holding fluid, nothing more. The price is quite expensive ($25/gal) but if it saved a break down, hose rupture, radiator, ... it is all worth it, IMO. It also never has to be changed, ever. They actually suggest you can transfer it from vehicle to vehicle but....

But that is still a water mix right? That is probably the best water mix out there but I think it'd be real nice to escape the pressure and the problems/wear caused by it.

Well not really, even if Fleetguard wasn't made by Cummins it still is the best (oil) filter you can get for the CTD.
