you should only run 35 psi max on the stock hx35. Depends what year ur truck is but just a plate in the smaller pumps won't make to much smoke.

Soon the only smoke will be from his tranny.

As stated - smoke gives us a bad name unless it's at the track or in front of the sled. I know it's fun at first but also consider it unburned wasted fuel and power. Now power is fun.

Work on the basics -gauges first, then build/buy a tranny that will hold and let the fun begin.

I don't care if the trans blows tomorrow, it did everything thrown at it for 12 years & 213,000 miles. I can't complain about that.

The smoke part I am keeping under control.

smoke isn't that bad. If they didn't like smoke the would have bought a v10 or something like that to turn up so that is still considered a heavy duty truck. Smoke is fun bottom line. Look at the engines that schied puts out they smoke and they are making a lot of power.

The stock Dodge automatics are notorious for being weak and EXPLODING (well, not really) when power is upped but the trans internals are not.

Upgraded though they can handle about anything.

Its mainly just the autos. Get a good clutch and you're good to go with a manual.
