I have a really big AiResearch turbo that was given to me by a friend who owns a semi-trucking business and was curious if it would work in a twin setup. I'm either gonna run a hx-35 or s300 on top just havent decided which. The AiResearch turbo specs are : Compressor Inducer - 83mm, Exducer - 127mm, Compressor Inlet - 5", and Compressor Outlet - 3". The Exhaust side specs are : Inducer - 95mm, Exducer - 127mm, Outlet - 5", Has a 1.50 A/R, and a T-6 flange. Would this even spool up on a daily driver?? If it wouldnt work for a driver what about just racing only and using some nitrous?? Would it spool and work then??

I run a TD06 on a gaser so I have some idea what you are dealing with.....a REAL big turbo. That turbo will support a good bit over 1000HP, but without a map it would be hard to say at what PR. The 1.50 A/R on a turbo that big will make it very hard to light....very, very hard. The one I run is a 70 A/R turbine and it on a 410cid gasser it lights at about 3800-4000RPM. Yours will be much harder to spool.

I am no compound expert, but that turbo is probably not ideal. I suspect it would probably work well for a three charger setup, but with a Holset 35 I think the spread is just too far to work well. With a 40, it might work, but will most likely be lazy on the street.....if it works at all. If you are running a 4K+ RPM pulling truck, it might work .
