AirDog vs. FASS
#31
I have an Air Dog on my 1st gen VE pump set to 17psi. It holds the pressure. Quieter and more compact than FASS which is why I bought one.
Where can I buy and how much are filters for these?
Would like to have a spare.

Thanks,
For filters, one extra water separator is all you for a spare. You do not need to change it unless it gets damaged. Just shake it and dump it out once a year. For the filter, carry a spare. Change it when pressure drops below whatever makes you feel bad, probably about 7 or 8 psi.
For filters, etc. you should contact one of our dealers or PureFlow direct. You can get our phone no. 877-GO DIESEL from our DTR banner ads or the side ad on the DTR main page.
Thanks,
Charlie

The 150/150 uses the WS-1023 water separator which is Fleetguards crossover for the original Fuel Preporator water separator. It also fits our FF-200 Stratore filter. This I know as we have a large number of these systems that have been traded in on the Preporator class 8 FP-200.
Fleetguards policy is to always make any private label they make available in a crossover number in their label. My latest Fleetguard catalog I have here at home is a 2003 and doesn't have even our latest. Give me until tomorrow and I will get these numbers for you. I don't have a fass 95/95 but I will find out if our filters will fit and if so, the Fleetguard crossover numbers.

Thanks Charlie, that would be great if you could see about the 95 series filter's. Is it true that the Airdog holds better fuel pressure than the FASS? I'm thinking dropping from 14psi to 9psi is a drastic drop?

Everyday Diesel, Update: I just found the original filters (behind stuff on my bookcase)
The AirDog Fleetguard crossover is fuel filter FF-5212 (not a Stratapore like ours) with 7/8-14 UNF-2B threads. The water separator is an FS19594 with 3/4-16 UNF-2B threads. This is not a wire screen as is ours. We had Fleetguard put the 100 micron wire mesh in our water separator. If these thread sizes fit the fass 95/95, these would be the crossover numbers there as well. I will check with Fleetguard for the actual numbers.

Charlie, when are you going to update your website with a list of dealers. It sure is nice when people are looking for a dealer to have a map, list or at least something. You don't have anything at all right now. sshelly

Thanks Charlie but I was told the FASS 95 series filter's are FS 19768 and the Fuel Filter is Unknown??? Seems weird that Fleetguard doesn't make them??? If your systems can hold more constant psi, I will try your Airdog system on my 3rd gen I buying this spring. Do you have any suplier's up here in Canada???

Filter update,
The AirDog WS-80 water separator crossover number is listed as Fuel Preporator crossover Fleetguard #FS-19768 thread size 3/4-16 UNF-2B. The AirDog fuel filter number FF-80 is listed as Fuel Preporator crossover Fleetguard number FF-5587 and FF-5617 with thread size 7/8-14 UNF-2B.
Our water separator fits the other product, but you would have to actually try our 3 micron Stratapore fuel filters to check for fit. Thats the closest I can get on short notice.
For our dealer list, I would like to post it. Our website is under construction and probably will be for some time. We have a tremendous amount of info to put into it. I would like to post our dealer list except that it is growing by several a day and we wouldn't be able to keep it current. You can contact our office for a dealer near you. We sell direct but prefer to sell through our dealers.
For dealers in Canada, I will need to check the list. I wish I could be more helpful.
Thanks,
Charlie

I just installed my FASS and its as quite if not quieter then my factory lift pump. I am very glad to have it.
The only things I wish FASS would improve on is the 1/2 feed line and a darn fuel pressure sender port (just about every single person that has one of these is monitoring the fuel pressure)
