Airdog 150 and buying filters local?

Hi all,

I'm new here, and I'm thinking of upgrading my 2001 dodge ram cummins with an airdog 150 fuel system. However, since I live in the sticks, I'm concerned about fuel filters. I've got the crossover part numbers for the fleetguard filters, but since I do not have a dealer within driving distance this seems problematic. Can I buy filters for this unit at NAPA or other local chain stores? I really do not want to mail order if there is any way I can avoid it. I appreciate any help and insight you could provide and thanks for a great forum!!

I dont see why you could not Mail Order a set to have on hand and then when you install them order another set to have for next time. Its not like your gonna need them every month or so unless you have BAD fuel where you live.

Hi Nightcrawler,

I would suggest that you get an extra filter and water separater when you get the AirDog. I would also suggest that you install a pressure gauge to monitor the pressure to your VP-44 to know when to change the filter when the pressure drops. I have not had to change the fuel filter on my AirDog since it was installed 5 years ago.

For everyone running an AirDog remember, the water separator is a wire screen element. Do not change it like a fuel filter, just take it off, shake it out, and put it back on. It only needs to be replaced if it is damaged.

Thanks,

Charlie

O.K.....So can anyone recommend a good place to order fleetguard filters online?

I agree, the info about the separator was very helpful. What is the recommended change interval on the fuel filter?

Thanks again-
