I simply have a differing opinion.

Since we have fully tested modules with various fuel pumps, we have a unique understanding of real world demands.

Just take one example in a fuel module, simply look at the 2000 and up. There are no less than 3 points in the factory fuel feed line that measure .240". This is less than 1/4" !!

These restrictions pose the highest call volumes I receive on a daily basis. "Why is my pump noisy?" "Why does my pressure drop so much?" "Why is there a ton of foam in my tank?"

All can be answered by pump inlet restriction. Just for giggles, what is the GPH flow at 20psi outlet pressure back through the return port? Add that number to the number of gallons per hour the truck actually consumes and that is the true fuel flow.

Now, imagine that amount of flow through less than 1/4" fittings. 3/8" and 1/2" lines are grossly oversized I would think. Bypass style pumps are hungry, on demand pumps have much more forgiving properties.

Some trucks are less affected, some more so. So with respect, my opinion is that resolving the restrictions on the suction side is important as part of any pump solution.
