I put the air ride on My dad's Excusion and it helps out so much the only trouble I had was drilling through the stock lift block. How hard was it to do the front? Looks nice!

I have a question about them there air bag thingies.

If you have it set up so you can lower the truck to the ground
(either theft deterrent, or just cool 8))
what happens if you blow a bag on the highway?
or, blow an air line?

Has this ever happened or likely to happen?

Saw a truck up the street from me, albeit not a Diesel and not a Dually like Jamie's, but it was in the driveway lowered to the ground, made me think of that.

Phox let me put it this way you are capitol F'd thats it its practically impossible to get anything under it to lift it where do you lift a truck that has the frame sitting on the ground? It has happened once to me and that was enough I have done everything to avoid this. To give you an Idea I am running Hydrolic hoses with pressed fittings that are good for 3000 PSI and 200+ degree temps so the lines are not a problem as for the bags 1 blew last year my own fault for having the larger bags in that I wasn't supposed to and it rubbed against the shock and put a hole in it. I run the smaller ones now and look at it like this if 90% of the transport trucks have air ride it should be good for a pickup truck they are made by firestone same as the transports and are really heavy duty. I blew my bag about 2 miles from home and just scraped the truck to my place then put the forklift under it and picked it up to get it on stands not nice. There is always the chance like anything else but I look at it like this at least it will make a cool spark show!

I was looking at the Kelderman system (for those that want air but not to scrape the ground) they have rubber bumpstops inside thier bags so if you blow one it wont take you all the way down and you can still drive it to get it fixed.

Theres a friend of mine that has his diesel lowered al the way to the ground and tucks the wheels up in the well. So the frame is sitting on the ground. Its was all done by bags but after blowing one of his 2 of his bags out. He now has it done by hydraulics. It looks sweet. <br>SD03

I'll be honest hydro's suck you need pumps and batteries when the batteries die the rams slow down. Air is always as long as you have pressure you have play time!

Hydro's arent that bad. Add accumulators and it rides as good as, or better, than air and a street charger takes care of the batteries. Air is much less maintence but dros are a lot more fun to play with ;D

What size bags are you running? Looks like a nice setup.
